The headline must stand out so that it will be noticed when bidders search for particular items. On the other hand, there are paid click thru programs, or pro traffic exchanges. These programs attract the serious internet marketer... the marketing professional. You know that these people are not only interested in promoting their own business but are serious about seeing what other members have to offer as well. How do you know? Because every member has paid to be part of the program! This also tells you that they are willing to invest in a good opportunity when they see it.

Are free exchanges useless then? Definitely not! The free exchanges will always have their place on the Internet. You will find the serious marketers using the free programs too, but they will be mixed in together with your freebie seekers. So, your conversion rates will be lower, or in other words, you will make less sales.

Look at it this way... Let's say you had two barrel of apples. In one barrel you had one hundred juicy, ripe, red apples. In the other barrel you also had one hundred juicy, ripe, red apples. But in the second barrel you also had 900 nasty worm infested rotten apples. Would you rather pick through the barrel with the one hundred good apples, or would you pick through all the nasty rotten apples to find the good ones? Or look at it this way...

Let's say you want to build an opt-in list of Internet marketers and your choices of where to advertise are free or paid exchanges. Where would you advertise? The paid of course, because you would know that *every* name and email address you collected had paid to join that program. That means they are valuable pre-qualified buyers. How to Respond After Identity Theft Occurs.

Identity theft has become one of the most frequently reported crimes. But, maybe you are asking yourself: What is identity theft? I am glad you asked.
Identity theft is the wrongful use of your name, birth date, social security number as well as financial records and banking information.

An identity thief obtains this information by going through your trash, or by pretending to be a bank officer, or government official, or by creating a false web site that looks similar to your on-line banking web site, your on-line auction web site (ebay, for example), or your on-line shopping web site (yahoo shopping, for instance).
This personal information is used to secure credit cards, bank loans, or to make furniture, and/or electronic goods purchases in YOUR name.

However, when identity theft occurs, you have certain rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). In order to effectively respond to suspected identity theft you should or can:
(1) Place a fraud alert in one of the three consumer reporting agencies and that agency will notify the other two consumer reporting agencies regarding your fraud alert.

The agencies are :
Equifax at 1-800-525-6285, or on the Internet at www.equifax.com
TransUnion at 1-800-397-3742, or on the Internet at www.transunion.com
Experian at 1-800-680-7289, or www.experian.com

(2) Obtain a copy of the identity theft report from a federal, state, or local police agency such as the FBI, State Department of Justice, or Sheriff’s office. You can find more specific information pertaining to the identity theft report at www.consumer.gov/idtheft.

(3) Put an initial theft alert in your consumer report file that will be valid for 90 days.
Yet, you can place an extended alert in your consumer report file that will remain valid for 7 years – if you also provide a copy of the identity theft report.

(4) Receive “free” copies of the information in your consumer report file from each of the 3 consumer reporting agencies.
The extended alert gives you the right to receive 2 “free” copies in a 1-year period to help you remain aware of any fraudulent accounts open in your name.

(5) Obtain copies of applications and similar documents from creditors, banks, and other businesses used to open fraudulent accounts – but you must make a written request to the addresses of these businesses.

(6) Get information about debts as a result of identity theft from a debt collector. You may request the name of the creditor and the amount of the outstanding debt.

(7) Have a credit reporting agency block specific information in your consumer file that was caused by identity theft. It is important to remember that you must provide a copy of the identity theft report mentioned in item 2 above.

(8) Prevent businesses from sending identity theft transactions to a consumer reporting agency by the making a written request that includes a copy of the identity theft report.
Please note that all of your communication should be sent by certified mail with a return receipt requested in order to confirm receipt of your correspondence.

Besides identity theft, there are an ever-growing rash of Internet scams, schemes, and frauds committed by “bad people” that can be effectively dealt with if you have the right “know-how”. The word no is the main factor which determines why people are so apprehensive about selling, people get scared of it. Unfortunately it is a word which we must all deal with on a daily basis, so once this irrational fear is conquered, anyone can make a successful living out of sales.

The fact of the matter is, with the growth of the internet and the rising costs of employees, good sales people are becoming more and more sought after as it's a profession which is becoming harder and harder.So you've just presented an intelligent and organised pitch, you've spent a lot of time planning it and you're sure you've done everything you can.
You are then told 'no'. It's at this point you start to think maybe that child's temper tantrum approach we looked at earlier may not be so unjustified after all. Remember, it is just one very small word and it very rarely justifies the emotional response it gets. When anybody says no, it is only for that moment in time.

When they say no, what they mean is, 'no, not today'. Your product or service maybe perfect for them next month or next year but for whatever reason, it is just not practical at this moment in time. Circumstances change. For example, you were eyeing up that very good looking laptop in town last week but you already have a perfectly adequate computer, however, as the sales assistant saw you looking at it they came over and gave you their best pitch.
You still said no, after all you were just looking, but when it comes time to replace your cold computer, or you've decided to treat yourself, you remember the helpful sales assistant. They weren't pushy, they gave you all the relevant information you needed and were genuinely very helpful.

The chances are that's where you're going to go when it is time for a new computer. A sales person will come back from a sales meeting with either, a business order, a sale completed or they come back with a 'no, not today'. The biggest source of revenue comes from existing customers, the second biggest comes from the 'no, not today' people who didn't want that service at the time, but keeping in touch and letting them know what's going on with your business may mean they decide to invest in your service at some point, people shouldn't be so scared of the word 'no' as it can always be converted.

You should know that there are many of your competitors out there who do more than publish a beautiful blog and load it with links to money-spinning products and these are the ones who have been making most of the money in the market.

What are the things you need to do in order to monetize your blog?
I will discuss them in the following steps.

Step 1: Choosing the right product:
The fact that some products are reported to be selling like hot cakes in some sites does not necessary mean that they will sell on your own blog. This is because people who visit your blog are a people that can be categorized according to the type of blog you publish. If you have a blog that concentrates on payment solutions for example, very few if any, people will come there looking for a solution to asthma problem.

What you are doing by pinging the is telling them that you have something new on your blog and you want them to take a look at it.

You can also advertise your blog on pay-per-click sites if you have a few bucks to spare for this purpose. You can pay for adwords that will have a back link to your blog. However, almost everyone EXCEPT the few super affiliates who understand what it takes and make herds of cash in commissions make these mistakes and that is why I have come to regard them as the top 7 mistakes that affiliate marketers make.

1. Thinking There Is Only One Niche To Sell In & To

As straight forward as it looks, most affiliate marketing campaigns fall victim to this mistake. They erroneously believe that to make money from affiliate products, you have to sell "make money" products. This is nothing but a misconception. Marketing as an affiliate is simply about selling products and services for a commission and you can just as well sell stuff outside the "make money" niche and trust me when I say you can do it far more easily. So, dump that idea that only certain niches sell and expand your view by looking into selling in other highly profitable niches.

2. Zero Landing Pages versus Poorly Done Landing Pages..

One of the biggest, yet most made mistakes is to launch an affiliate marketing campaign and then lead your prospects straight to the vendor's pitch (sales copy). This might have worked well back in 2002 but not now. Internet users have become more sophisticated and the honest truth is that most web users won't click on an affiliate link or anything that looks like it.

That is why more than anything else, you need a landing page. You landing page doesn't necessarily need to be something complex. The object is to pre-sell the product you are marketing and also to build a list of prospects so that you can followup and sell other related products to them.

If you are looking at selling many products at a time, the key is to choose product clusters in related niches and promote them. Too many dis-similar and far apart product niches will shatter your concentration.

Common PPC Mistakes #1 - Using Content Network

When you start a campaign you MUST always disable the content network tab, you do not want t receive traffic from these sites that contain AdSense ads as these are often riddled with click fraud and irrelevant or un-targeted traffic. You should only attempt content if you are an expert in PPC advertising. Google will assume you wish to use this option as a default, so be careful.

Common PPC Mistakes #2 - To Many Keywords Per Adgroup

You need to limit the amount of keywords per adgroup, again as a newbie you will be probably keen to get on with your first campaign, to do this you will have probably obtained a keyword list from either descriptive words option or website content option in Googles keyword tool (FREE) and then added all the returned results to your adgroup, this could run into 100's of keywords. You should aim to have between 5 and 20 keywords per adgroup, 15 - 60 if you are using all broad, phrase and exact match types.

Having more than 20 can negatively affect your quality score and therefore you CPC (cost per click) and your ad position.

Common PPC Mistakes #3 - Keyword Grouping

When you insert your keywords, into your adgroup, you MUST have at least one common keyword or phrase common in all, you will also want to use your chosen keyword in your ad title and description as often as you can.

Google AdWords Tips - Everything You Need to Know About Google AdWords.

Where Will My Ads Appear?

You ads will on the right hand side of any search results in the Google search engine - the sites listed here are what we call as "paid listing".

Those sites listed on the left of the Google search engine are what we called as "organic listing" - and whenever someone clicks on these links, the website's owner need not pay for anything - it's free traffic.

As to how you can get your website listed in the first position in the Google search engine in the "organic listing" will depend on many factors - you'll need to apply Search Engine Optimization (SEO) skills here.

Understanding Terms Used In Google Adwords

The following are some of the terms most commonly used in Google Adwords and what these terms are:

1. CPC (Cost Per Click)

CPC, also known as Cost Per Click, is how much Google Adwords charges you when someone clicks on your ad.

2. Maximum CPC

Maximum CPC is an amount you are willing to pay at maximum for a click on your ad.

You'll have to state a maximum CPC for all your keywords when you create a new campaign - Google Adwords will NOT charge you beyond your maximum CPC.

3. Impressions

Impressions is the number of times your ad has been displayed for each keyword.

4. CTR (Click Through Rate)

CTR, also known as Click Through Rate, is a percentage generated by Adwords for each keyword - it is calculated based on the following formula:

(Number of Clicks / Number of Impressions) * 100 = CTR (in percentage)

In general, the higher your CTR is, the more relevant Google think your ad is, and as such, over time, as your CTR increases, Google Adwords will charge you lower per click when someone clicks on your ad.

5. Quality Score (QS)

Quality Score is a score that's calculated by Google Adwords based on a number of factors - the quality of your destination page (page at which you'll lead your visitors to when they click on your ad), your keyword's CTR, maximum CPC that you've set, etc.

The page in which you're going to send visitors to when they click on your ad is very important here - if your page is just a very simple page that provides no information but to ask them to enter their first name and email address to proceed, chances are you'll get a very poor Quality Score, and as a result, you'll have to pay a very high Cost Per Click.

In essence, the better the Quality Score is, the lesser you need to pay when someone clicks on your ad.

4 Keyword Types In Google Adwords

There are 4 main keyword types in Google Adwords, and I'm going to explain what these keyword types are with examples:

1. Broad Match

Broad match keywords are keywords without any inverted commas (") or square brackets ([ ]) in between.

Let me give you an example of a broad match keyword - learn golf.

Your ad will be triggered whenever the keyword phrase a person types in contains both "learn" and "golf". Also, your ad will also be triggered for related terms relating to the words "learn" and "golf" as well.

Here are some examples of keywords that will trigger your ads:

- learn how to play golf

- golf learning websites

- master the art of learning golf

- golf learn lessons online

This type of keyword will allow for your ad to be shown most of the time. However, it is sometimes very untargeted traffic.

I personally do not like to target broad match keywords in my Adwords campaigns.

2. Phrase Match

Phrase match keywords are keywords that has inverted commas in between - for example "learn golf".

Your ad will only be triggered if the keyword phrase a person types in contains the word "learn golf" in that sequence.

Here are some of the keyword phrase examples that will trigger your ad:

- i want to learn golf online

- learn golf on the internet

- where can i learn golf

- learn golf swing

However, your ad will NOT be triggered when someone types in the following:

- learning golf

- learn how to play golf

- golf learn

3. Exact Match

Exact match keyword phrases have square brackets in between them - for example [learn golf].

You ad will ONLY be triggered when someone enters the words learn golf in that sequence. Nothing else in front or at the back.

I love to target my ads with both exact and phrase match keywords - as they give me the best targeted traffic to my website.

4. Negative Match

Many people neglect having negative keywords in their ad campaigns. You need to find as many negative words as possible to eliminate unwanted ad impressions and unwanted clicks.

Let me give you an example - if you're selling a digital book product on golf entitled "beginner golf tips", you wouldn't want your ad to show up when someone is looking for free beginner golf tips, beginner golf tips torrent, beginner golf tips download, etc.

All you need to do here is to precede these keywords with a negative (-) sign, for example

-free

-torrent

-download

This is very important: You MUST build up your list of negative keywords. To look out for negative keywords, simply make use of the free Google Keywords tool or free Wordtracker tool, type in the keyword which you want to target, and browse through the list to see if there's any keyword terms you do not wish your ad to appear if someone enters them in.

I normally have a list of about 500 - 600 negative keywords in any Adwords campaign that I have - this will ensure that my ad will only appear for the most targeted keyword terms, and thereby bringing me better profits.

Understanding Your Potential Customer's Buying Life Cycle

Understanding your potential customer's buying life cycle is very crucial in you deciding the type of keywords you should target for any Adwords campaign that you're going to set up.

There are basically 3 categories of keywords - namely the Browsing Keywords, Comparison Keywords and finally, the Buying Keywords. Just what these categories of keywords mean?

Let me explain this with an example. Take for instance you are promoting BMW 7 series car as an affiliate - which keywords you should target for the best results:

1. Browsing Keywords

In this stage, your potential customers probably doesn't know what model or even what brand of car he/she wants. But he/she is interested in getting a new car.

So he'll just enter keywords like the following to find out what types of cars and models are available:

- fast cars

- cool cars

- sports cars

- nice cars

- smart cars

The list doesn't stop there - but just to give you an example of keywords they'll possibly enter. This is the browsing keywords phase.

If you are promoting a BMW 7 series car and you're targeting keywords like these, chances are you'll get lots of ad impressions, you may get lots of clicks, but no conversions - the reason is because people who type in these keywords do not even have an intention to buy.

I don't normally encourage you to target such keywords for your Adwords campaign. It's just a waste of time and money.

2. Comparison Keywords

After some research, you potential customer decides he wants to buy a BMW car - but doesn't know which model he wants. At this stage, he wants to find out more about BMW cars, so he'll enter keywords like:

- BMW for sale

- BMW reviews

- compare BMW models

If you have a created a landing page to collect your potential customers' first name and email address in exchange for a free report, email series, video series, audio series, etc. to educate him/her on the types of BMW car models available, and eventually convince him why he/she should get the BMW 7 series car which you're promoting, then you should target these keywords in your Adwords campaign.

This is the comparison keywords phase. Remember, in this phase, your customers know what they want - in BMW, but he/she doesn't know whether BMW cars is the best choice for him, or he/she doesn't know which model to go for. With the right marketing techniques, you may be able to get some sales here.

3. Buying Keywords

Your potential customer know what he/she wants - a BMW 7 series car, and is ready to buy. So he/she will enter keywords like:

- buy BMW 7 series

- cheap BMW 7 series

- BMW 7 series offer

- BMW 7 series car sale

The list goes on - These are called "Buying Keywords", and that's where most money will be made from - this is where you must target your keywords - all instances of keywords containing the phrase "BMW 7 series".

You'll get the highest number of conversions from these buying keywords.

Tools For Keyword Research

I usually make use of these 3 free tools during my keyword research for suitable keywords for my Adwords campaigns:

1. Google's Keyword Research Tool

2. Wordtracker's Free Keyword Reseach Tool

3. Keyword Discovery's Free Keyword Research Tool

How Much Should I Bid For? - Tips For Determining Your Maximum CPC

As a rough estimate, I'm going to assume that I'm going to get 1 sale every 100 clicks (you can take this assumption as well)

Let's say the commission you'll receive for this product is $47 for every sale. Therefore, your maximum CPC should be:

Commission Paid for 1 Sale / 100

Which in this case will be $0.47 - you can set your maximum CPC as $0.47.

However, you may also want to assume that you will be able to get 1 sale in every 50 clicks. In such a scenario, you can set your maximum CPC as $0.94.

Normally, I will be able to get a sale every 33 clicks on the average (that's my average) - so for me, I can set my maximum CPC as $1.42.

Is It Possible For Me To Set My Maximum CPC To Be The Same As The Minimum Bid Specified By Adwords?

Before I answer this question, let me explain what this minimum bid specified by Adwords means - this minimum bid is the minimum amount you need to set as your maximum CPC in order for Google Adwords to display your ads.

If you set your maximum CPC to be lower than what is specified in the minimum bid, then Google Adwords will not show your ads.

Back to the question, yes, you can set your maximum CPC for each keyword to be the same as the minimum bid specified by Adwords. By doing so, your ad will most likely be placed in the tail end for the keyword you're bidding for.

Let's say if there are already 10 ads for this particular keyword you are bidding for - your ad will be placed in the 11th position.

Targeting Search & Content Networks - Or Not?

When you enter your campaign's settings you'll see a column called "Networks" which lets you state the networks in which you want your ads to appear in.

1. Google Search

When this is checked (this must be checked), your ad will appear when someone enters the keyword you've bid for in the Google Search Engine.

2. Search Network

When this is checked, your ad will appear when someone enters the keyword you've bid for in Google's Search Network - such as Froggle, Google Groups, AOL, Netscape, Ask.com, Shopping.com, Earthlink.com, Compuserve, AT&T.

I personally don't recommend you to check this option because the clicks are not very targeted (based on experience)

3. Content Network

When this option is checked, you ads will appear in related websites on the Internet in which the webmaster has Adsense modules in.

I do not recommend you to check this option also because the clicks you get are very untargeted (again based on my experience)

How Can I Write An Effective Ad Copy?

Writing an effective ad copy is very crucial to get a very good CTR - because your ad will stand out from the rest and this will definitely catch people's attention and click on your ad.

One good way to create an ad copy is to create your own "swipe" file - this file will contain good ad phrases that you can use.

You are probably asking me now how can you find good ad phrases you can use - easy. All you need to do is to look into your local newspaper - which ever ad that caught your eye will be a good ad - copy the exact phrase in the ad that caught your eye and place it in this "swipe" file of yours. If this ad phrase manage to catch your eye, it is very likely that it will be able to catch the eye of others as well.

Another way is to look at the ads that's in the Google Search Engine for the various keywords that you're looking to place your ads on - see which ad caught your eye - and for the ad that caught your eye - what ad phrase did the advertiser use? Copy this ad phrase into your "swipe" file again.

Over time, you'll have a "swipe" file full of eye-catching ad phrases that you can use in your ads to have an effective ad copy, and thereby improving your ad's CTR.

What Is Google Slap?

What exactly is a Google Slap? To put it in layman terms, it simply means Google Adwords penalizing advertisers by slapping them with a very high minimum bid for a keyword - from a minimum bid of $5 or $10 per click for a keyword.

The reason why these advertisers are penalized is most likely due to the quality of the destination page they lead people to when their ads are being clicked.

As you already know, Google loves unique content, and they detest spams - so if you're going to lead someone to a destination page where it contains nothing but 2 form fields to ask them for their first name and email address, you'll most likely be penalize by Google - by needing to pay a very high cost per click.

How Do I Know If I Have Been Google "Slapped"?

Very easy, all you need to do is to look at the "Quality Score" column in your campaign ad group page.

If you look under the Quality Score column, you'll see a "Minimum Bid" under your Quality Score for each keyword - if the minimum bid is $5 or $10, it means to say you've been Google "slapped" for that particular keyword.

When that happens, it means that Google deemed that the destination website you've led the visitor to when they click on your ad is not relevant to the keyword you've submitted bids in or the destination website has very poor quality contents. You'll have to look into improving the destination website.

Are There Any Other Pay Per Click Sites Where I Can Place My Ads In?

Some of you may find Adwords too competitive (there are really lots of competition in some of those very hot niches).

You may want to consider placing your ads in other Pay Per Click Search Engines, as the competition is lesser, and also you need not pay too much per click.

Here are some of the other Pay Per Click Search Engines you might want to consider placing your ads in:

- Yahoo Search Marketing

- MSN AdCenter

- 7 Search

- LookSmart

- Miva

- Enhance

- AdBrite

I did have successes in some of these other search engines - some of those really competitive keywords only cost me $0.01 per click in some of these search engines! ;)

I've come to the conclusion that pay per click (PPC) just isn't my cup of tea.

One of the first things I tried was ppc, I wrote my little opening statement and picked some keywords. Now since I'm not a wealthy man I decided that I would pay no more than $1.50 a click and would only spend $15.00 a day. I figured that's ten people a day, or more if the click was less money. LOL

Little did I know, that when I said that I would only pay a buck and a half per click, that there were those clicks that passed through at $1.83 or more. Fifteen dollars, yeah right, there wasn't single day that my account was at or under fifteen dollars. A lot of people clicked on my site but not one of them joined the program. I began to think it was my competitors sabotaging me. The only thing is, is that there is no any competition.

I tried to eliminate the keywords that were costing me too much money, but as soon as I would eliminate one, another would take its place. I even paused my advertising campaign, but I was still getting charged money. Finally, after a month and a half of this, I called to cancel my account.

They offered me fifty dollars worth of free clicks and I took them up on it, three days later I canceled.

So I started writing articles like this one. At first I really didn't know what to expect or how I would do. Turns out that I actually like it, so far I have 6 articles running and each one gets a little easier to write than the last. I have had a couple denied because I didn't follow the rules, and a couple that I just needed to make a couple small changes.

One cool thing that I learned through all this, is that you don't need the pay per click, I searched my name and low and behold there I was. and a whole lot of other things that I have done on-line, including these articles and a couple songs I recorded on a karaoke site. LOL So, maybe I won't be exposed to as many people without pay per click, but who cares I'm saving a lot of money.

Pay per click, when it came out onto the market, was hailed as being one of the best systems of advertising ever created. Rather than paying for every time a particular advertisement was seen by people, you instead only paid when someone clicked on a link and visited your website. While you ended up paying more money, it was definitely something that really allowed you to ensure that what you were paying for was quality. And in 2002-2003, this was definitely a novelty that had many people back into the internet marketing game.

However, when someone considers pay per click in the modern context, it is really something that has lost a lot of the momentum it once had. Most of the people that surf the net regularly know exactly what Google AdSense is and for that reason have no problem clicking on the links in order to just read a page out of the curiosity. They don't really care what's on the page in most cases and for that reason the targeting that PPC once gave you is not something that you can rely on anymore. While your money will still get you some equity in some cases, most people are paying too much for too little.

If you have been struggling to make money through affiliate marketing, then your struggle is over. If you follow the strategy exactly as I describe below, you will have two things in place: a) A system which you can duplicate across any niche market for any affiliate program b) A system that will continue to bring you affiliate commission passively year after year without much promotion later.
Here’s the step by step process.
Step 1: Choose a good Product to promote as affiliate.
I suggest you visit Clickbank and study the top 4 products from “Business”, “Health”, “Computer and Internet” and “Pet” Categories.
Step 2: Identify 2 to 3 Key issues that the product addresses.
The best way to do this is to study the sales letter of the product specially the bullet points.
For example – Let’s say you are promoting a product about “fixing credit” and from the sales letter you come to know that the product is focusing on issues like Ways to Boost Credit Score, strategy to repair credit score , etc.
Step 3: Create short special report on each of the key issues.
Continuing with the above example you can create short reports like –“How To Develop an Organized Strategy to Repair Your Credit score”, “3 Common Mistakes You should avoid to Boost Your Credit Score”, “The Best Way To Boost Your Credit Score after a Big Problem”
Each of these short reports should promote the same product. You should also promote the other 2 reports in each of the free report you create.
Tip: You can create these strategic short reports in less than 48 hrs without writing, even if you don’t know anything about the topic. I’ll tell you how at the end of this article.
Step 4: Make report 1 rebrandible.
This is the report that you will be promoting heavily. What I suggest is to allow people freely rebrand it with their own information. Once this report is in circulation you will automatically get targeted subscribers through this report as you have listed the other 2 free reports in it.
Step 5: Create an attractive landing page for the visitors you get through the first report.
Your objective here is to build a super targeted list by converting the people who have read your first report and are interested in more and visits your site to get the second and third report. You should also have at least 5 follow up message loaded in your autoresponder. These autoresponder messages should focus on one key issue or problem, a tip or shortcut and promote the same ‘affiliate product’ as a complete solution.
Step 6: Get even more targeted subscribers quickly.
I suggest, once the system is in place, visit Google and do a search for the product you are promoting. Find the websites that are promoting the same product. Once the system is in place, you will build a super targeted subscriber list on autopilot to promote and profit from not only the ‘chosen’ product but all sort of related product and make money from them.
This is a strategy that can build laser targeted list and catapult your passive affiliate income in record time.
